CANDLE CARE

HOW TO BURN YOUR CANDLE

1.Ensure you light the entire edge of the wick. You can do this by lighting both corners, one at a time.

2.Light your candle in a well ventilated room, away from drafts as this may cause your candle to burn unevenly or sooting (black marks around the vessel).

3.Each time you burn your candle, burn it long enough for the wax pool to reach the edges and for no longer than 4 hours. Not allowing the candle to reach its full melt pool can cause tunnelling which can be difficult to fix.

4.Never leave a lit candle unattended and ensure you stop burning your candle when 10mm of wax remains at the bottom.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR WICKS

1.Always ensure that the wax pool is free from debris as this can act as a secondary wick and cause the candle to burn faster.

2. Ensure the wooden wick is trimmed to a quarter of an inch above the surface of the wax prior to lighting the candle. If the wick is too long, it may smoke when burned, or burn too high.

3. Long or crooked wicks can create high flames, smoking, or sooting. Therefore, trimming the wick to 5mm (when the wax has set and the candle is cool) is the most effective way to prevent this.
